30 Days of Doctor Who
Day 30 - Why Do YOU Love Doctor Who?

How can I not love Doctor Who? First of all, it’s science fiction, which is my favourite genre of books and TV. Secondly, the main idea of the show is so clever. ‘A 900-year-old alien travels the universe alone, befriending humans and other aliens along the way.’ He’s the last of his species and - oh - his space ship looks like an England Police Box. Not to mention the whole regeneration thing. But really, who comes up with that? Brilliant people, that’s who.
The cast and characters of Doctor Who are all so easy to love. You get so attached to them that when it’s time for the Doctor to regenerate and find new companions, you’re really heartbroken. Not like, ‘aw that stinks’ heartbroken. Like ‘gross sobbing all day’ heartbroken. But even then, you still find a way to fall in love with the next Doctor and companions during their run.
The aliens they meet and planets and time periods they visit are so intriguing and exciting and you never know what’s going to happen or what the Doctor and his companion/s are going to encounter. And the Doctor has so much fun with his companions which makes it such a happy show - even if it is rather devastating at times.
But the writers of Doctor Who [coughMoffatcough] really know how to tug at your heartstrings. The endings of the majority of the episodes make my cry, tear up at the least. And I don’t mind. I think it’s great that a television show can do that (even if my family and friends think I’m crazy for crying over a TV program).
But that’s why I love Doctor Who. The story lines are brilliant, the characters are lovable, the villains are creative, the places are amazing, and over all, the show is wonderful.
And once you watch Doctor Who, you always have that hint of hope that the Doctor will come for you.

30 Days of Doctor WhoDay 27 - Favourite Series Arc
Since I cannot think of any other Series Arcs other than the Tenth Doctor’s death (which was obviously not my favourite in any way, shape, or form), I chose the Eleventh Doctor’s death/Silence Will Fall arc.

30 Days of Doctor WhoDay 22 - Something Epic
“Is this world important?”“Important? What’s that mean, ‘important’? Six billion people live here, is that ‘important’? Here’s a better question, is this world a threat to the Atraxi? …well, come on, you’re monitoring the whole planet; is this world a threat?”“No.”“Are the peoples of this world guilty of any crime by the laws of the Atraxi?”“No.”“Okay! One more, just one. Is this world protected? But you’re not the first lot to have come here. Oh, there have been so many! And what you’ve got to ask is…what happened to them? … Hello. I’m the Doctor. Basically…run.”
